Information for Contributors to the Journal of Preschool Education

Contributions from the practice of teachers and other professionals in the area of preschool education are welcome by the editorial board of the journal of Preschool Education, including their opinions, observations or remarks.

Technical requirements for publication:

When writing the article using MS Word, it is necessary to select a standard font (Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5). Important terms can be written in bold. Direct citations are in italics. Underlining is not recommended. It is necessary to follow typographical rules, e.g. differentiate between a dash and a hyphen; use a space after a full stop.

Length of contributions:

The required length of theoretical and methodological contributions is 4 – 8 standard pages; contributions from practice 2 – 5 standard pages; reports from conferences and various events 1 – 3 standard pages; reviews of publications, research reports, and methodical materials with the maximum length of 2 standard pages (a standard page is 1,800 characters). 

Manuscript:

Contributions can be written in Slovak or Czech language. It must contain a full name of the author, name and address of the workplace including e-mail address (this information must be stated for each of the authors of the manuscript). The manuscript must be accompanied by a statement declaring that the text has not been published or sent for publication in a different journal or collection of studies. 

It is necessary to include an abstract and keywords. The main text of the contribution may be divided into chapters. The authors are asked to include a conclusion and a list of references – a list of literature, documents and other resources used directly in the text of the contribution.

In case the authors use tables, pictures and/or schemesit is necessary to use captions (number and title). Under the table, picture or scheme, it is correct to cite a source used by the author as well as the key explaining used symbols, acronyms, or letters. 

Each contribution will go through a blind peer review process. The editorial office reserves the right to edit and shorten the texts, of both commissioned and non-commissioned manuscripts; to reject a manuscript based on formal or content discrepancies. In case of such circumstances, the author/-s will be explicitly informed about it. Every contribution published in the journal will be financially rewarded and a copy of the journal will be sent to each author a každému autorovi bude zaslaný jeden autorský výtlačok na adresu to the address stated in the correspondence.
